Double Bun Glamour

Image by: blipdesign London England UK

If you like the appearance of  having big hair that's styled into an updo, consider the look of a double bun such as this hair style. The top half of the hair is styled into a beehive, and the back half is styled into a sideways french roll.

Many stylists will use kanekalon hair to tease and stuff the buns giving it shape.

The faux braid that is crossed wrapped around the back of the bun, and onto the forehead will act as its own accessory.  If your hair is natural and you would like to have smooth edges that gives the look of having relaxed hair, simply hot comb your edges with the NOW brand Grapeseed Oil for that illusion.

Double Strand Bun

The look of this styles requires three segments of your hair to be placed in mini buns outlined with what is known to people as a "Rope Bun", or "Double Strand Rope Bun". The look is most common on women with natural hair, although, this black wedding hair style in particular, will afford well for both natural and relaxed women. You can top this look off with a hair accessory.

Single Bun

If timing is an issue,  you could never go wrong with a neat yet sleek and very basic updo.  A simple look such as this black wedding hair will work for the bride or bridesmaid, and can be achieved on women with natural or relaxed hair.

The style requires the bun to be stuffed with Jumbo braiding hair, which is also known as "Kanekalon hair". The edges are smoothed and brushed up to perfection. You will have no problem getting this look if your hair is already relaxed, but natural hair women will need a little hot combing and specifically Grapeseed oil to get the relaxed look on your edges.

Top this off with the faux braid accessory to be placed around the bun and a basic rhinestone accessory that will not overwhelm the dress or your overall look.

Ponytail w/ Jumbo Hair

Hair by: Mela Wright Washington District of Columbia

This is a low ponytail made out of kanekalon hair which really allows you to uncover a beautiful face.  I consider this to be a very simple and easy do-it-yourself  type of black wedding hair.

The look requires you to brush and smooth your edges back into a low ponytail, using a product such as Eco styling gel. The Jumbo hair is then wrapped around your  ponytail without twisting or braiding, and secured with bobby pins.  Both the bride and bridesmaid can consider this look.

You can finish this look with a sheen spray, for added luster, and avoid any holding sprays  such as spritz, to keep the look soft, and opt for different ear rings. Top this look with an accessory.

Nubian Goddess

Hair By: KnottyGirl Boston, MA

A look of Nubian locs is a great option if you have them. This hair style works best if your existing hair is already natural. The nubian locs are sectioned into different parts, and wrapped around one another and secured with bobby pins to ensure hold.

Be sure to properly wash and condition them to free your scalp from any build up.  You can end this look with just about any hair accesory you like. Consult a professional loctician that specializes in natural hair care and styling to prep your locs for the big day.

Sideswept Chigon

Hair By: Black Velvet Hair Co. Los Angeles, CA

This hairstyle will work, if you already have simple extensions that are either sewed in or bonded with glue. This  is one of the black wedding hair styles that can be achieved yourself. Begin the style with clean dry hair.

The hair is brushed and smoothed up into a sideswept, and low ponytail with a hair band. A small segment of the ponytail is then wrapped around  the hairband to conceal the actual styling details.

Half of the hair is then looped through the band leaving the other half to be curled into a pin curl, and flattened against the base and secured with bobby pins. The part can be placed in the middle or on the sides.

Finish with a light holding spray to eliminate any flyaways, followed by a light oil sheen for added luster.
